Job Description

You're passionate about a career delivering solutions that impact millions.

Here's your chance to design and deliver efficient, customer-focused services that also enhance accessibility, sustainability and overall quality of living for more people than you've imagined.

In this role, you'll:

Be at the core of reconditioning, manufacturing, testing, and certifying electronic signalling equipment - all to the highest safety-critical standards. Your expertise in electrical and electronic equipment will be essential to delivering projects that meet strict quality benchmarks, stay within budget, and hit deadlines with confidence.

You'll work directly with transmitters, receivers, power supply units, and electronic relays, applying your skills in fault finding, PCB repair, and interpreting circuit diagrams. Rail-specific test equipment will be part of your daily toolkit, and you’ll operate to Sydney Trains’ specifications and standards, ensuring every component is certified and ready for service. This is a role that demands safety, efficiency, and independence. Whether you're collaborating with a team or working solo, you will embody Sydney Trains' values and uphold WHS principles with pride.

This is a Temporary Full Time role up to 16 months and is based out of one of Sydney Trains locations in Strathfield.

About you

  • You understand that safety isn't just a requirement, it's a responsibility, and you take it seriously because you know your work keeps the network moving and communities connected.
  • You've earned your Electrical trade certificate from a recognised institution and bring years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • You are confident with engineering drawings and calculations, and you know how to turn technical insight into practical outcomes.
  • A forklift licence is a plus, but what truly sets you apart is your ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute meaningfully in a maintenance setting.
  • You are not just technically capable — you are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to doing things right the first time.
  • You are looking for more than a job, you are looking for a role where your skills make a real impact.
