Summary

This position is responsible for Plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical/electronic equipment, as well as other associated equipment. The individual in this position must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, programming, documenting, upgrading, and the laying out and installing of equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
• Ensures self-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing to train fellow workers.
• Maintains work area in a clean and functional condition.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all electronic high-tech processing and control systems and associated equipment in plant.
• Must maintain appropriate certifications and continued education as required.
• The individual in this position must possess a working knowledge of electricity, electronics, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Perform electronic, electrical, instrumentation and control systems, which includes installations, calibrations, maintenance, documentation, and repairs.
• The knowledge of this position is equipment specific and assists in avoiding unnecessary process interruptions or downtime.
• This individual must have a working knowledge of safe work practices, plant equipment, trouble shooting and repair procedures, and equipment installation under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Supervisors, and other members of management.
• Technician will ensure production equipment is properly configured and set to desired controls to assist with meeting desired operational efficiencies and goals.
• The area of work includes inside the facility and outside, depending on work requirements.
• Weekend and overtime work in this position is common and may be required to meet operational goals.
• This position requires the ability to work in extreme environments of both hot and cold.
• Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, manufacturers’ manuals, material safety data sheets and engineering drawings.
• Must be able to use written logbooks, plant computer system, and maintenance work order and supply system.

Typical Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Graduation from a technical trade and/or completion of an apprenticeship, certificate or associate degree program in a related field.
• Journeyman Electrician Card holders, preference plus.

Relevant Experience

• 3- 5 years of instrumentation/electronic/electrical relevant experience.
• Experience programming and/or PLC operations preferred.

Shift: 7am - 7pm "Pitman Shift Style"

Wage: $34.81 - $38.23 p/hr
