Job Description

Essential Functions

• Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical and/or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures; utilizes hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components; utilizes test equipment and hand tools to locate cause of breakdown and corrects problem.
• Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
• Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment.
• Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, and fixtures; utilizes hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolds, and other resources as needed.
• Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas; pulls insulated wires or cables through conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Constructs and fabricates parts using hand tools and specifications.
• Fastens small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
• Digs trenches to lay conduit and moves/lifts heavy objects as needed.
• Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in commercial electrical environment or completion of approved technical training program.

Special Requirements/Certification:

• Currently participating in an apprenticeship program and/or in school.

Pay Range: $20.67-21.00/hr.
