Electrician - Solar PV Install & O&M

Location: Cornwall
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

The Opportunity

An established renewable energy business is looking for a motivated and experienced Electrician to join its growing team, supporting the installation, operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets across the UK.

This is a varied, hands-on position covering Solar PV installation, planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and performance monitoring. The role will suit an experienced electrician who enjoys problem-solving and is comfortable working across multiple renewable energy sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and complete Low Voltage electrical installations associated with Solar PV projects.

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across operational renewable energy sites.

  • Monitor and review site performance on a rota basis, including weekend cover.

  • Identify, record and resolve electrical faults using a proactive, methodical approach.

  • Analyse site performance and identify opportunities to improve ongoing operation.

  • Complete maintenance, fault and performance reports.

  • Travel to project and operational sites throughout the UK as required.

About You

  • City & Guilds 2365 Level 2/3, equivalent or higher.

  • City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing qualification or equivalent.

  • BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience.

  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

  • Methodical, accurate and process-focused approach.

  • Good communication, organisational and IT skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Flexibility to work across the UK, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Desirable

  • Experience with Solar PV installation and maintenance.

  • Experience with communications systems, set-up and configuration.

  • Exposure to High Voltage installation and maintenance.

  • Relevant inverter manufacturer training.
