Job Description

Maintains, troubleshoots, replaces and may install electrical circuits, equipment and appliances. Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits. Responsible for changing lighting ballasts and all exterior lighting including fiber optic lights in pools. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building codes.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, inspects, tests, and maintains electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to emergency generators, automated transfer switches, variable frequency drives, automated lighting controls, lighting dimmers, gallery louver controls, motor controls and electrical starters
  • Replaces ballasts and light bulbs at Getty facilities
  • Sets up and removes power and lighting for events
  • Ensures that motors, transformers and lighting fixtures have been installed according to specifications
  • Estimates time and material costs on electrical projects
  • Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with local building and safety codes

Qualifications

  • High School/GED
  • California drivers license with less than three DMV points
  • 5+ years experience as a Journeyman electrician
  • Electrician's license preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications
  • Ability to use a computerized work order tracking system and track materials used
  • Familiarity with LA City electrical codes
  • Ability to service, maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment such as: variable frequency drives, motor control starters, electrical motors, automated lighting controls, relays, lighting dimmers, automatic transfer switches, emergency generators, portable generators and uninterruptible power systems
  • Ability to operate meggers and sophisticated electrical monitoring equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and test circuit breakers up to 480 volts
  • Ability to safely install electrical conduits and equipment
