MPCF is looking to hire a full-time Journeyman licensed Electrician who will be responsible for maintaining the campus electrical system, as well as low voltage systems, and equipment such as radio’s, network switches, fiber optics, etc. Journeyman’s license is required.
Typical responsibilities of an Electrician:
• Read and interpret blueprints/schematics
• Install/maintain high voltage systems
• Research needed parts as well as keep an accurate inventory on hand
• Knowledge in installation of conduit
• Install/maintain low voltage systems
• Use ladders, lifts, and power equipment in a safe manner
• Maintain a neat and sanitary work environment
• Supervise/train incarcerated individuals while work is being performed

• Demonstrates electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills
• Possess a keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
• Highly organized and responds well in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills; both written and verbal with a variety of individuals

Designated positions in this class require possession of a valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire. Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, a valid Commercial Driver's License with the required endorsements and applicable restrictions must be obtained and subsequently maintained to continue employment.
