We are looking for an entry-level Electrician to join our maintenance team at our Montreal refinery. This position is an entry-level position in the maintenance progression line and carries with it the requirement to progress to the Maintenance Technician classification, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Technician Development Programs and the current collective agreement

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a journeyperson licence
  • A minimum of 10 years electrical experience including troubleshooting
  • Diploma from a college or a recognized vocational school in the appropriate discipline
  • Experience lockout, secure and power off as well as knowledge of medium voltage and switchgear
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 would be an asset.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks assigned to the refinery on a daily basis on low and medium voltage electrical equipment.
  • Perform mainly electrical troubleshooting, reliability and installation work.
  • Also perform any other tasks necessary for the smooth running of the operation.
  • Effectively manage electrical emergencies, outside of normal hours and ensure troubleshooting of plant equipment.
  • Ability to work complex plans with minimal supervision
  • Self motivated, team player along with people management skills

Location and other key details:

  • You will work at our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East
  • Hours of work: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and available outside normal working hours when required
  • Overtime available, depending on business needs
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
