The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Electrician in our Electrical Services Motors team based in Port Kembla As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

Working a 9 day fortnight, you will join a cross functional team that ensures motor equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for safety, quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority.

This role is open to electrician’s seeking a development opportunity, we welcome electricians with exposure on AC/DC motor equipment to apply, training and qualifications for this role can potentially be provided to the right candidates.

What Will You Do?

Working within our Electrical Services team, you will work with a small team of specialist electricians to repair, maintain and improve equipment onsite and in a workshop environment. You will:

  • undertake electrical and mechanical motor repairs on site and in the workshop
  • perform planned maintenance and inspection activities on site
  • attend to breakdowns and contribute to fault finding tasks
  • support large and small motor and equipment replacements

More About You

We are seeking qualified electrical tradespeople of varied experience, and we are also keen to speak with 4th year electrical apprentices moving into the next stage of their career.

You will have:

  • electrical trade qualification
  • NSW Supervisors licence
  • effective communication and reporting skills
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
  • experience in an industrial environment
