Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to deliver high quality maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across the Club’s facilities. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe and compliant environment.

You will be responsible for fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and supporting matchday operations, including critical systems such as floodlighting and life safety equipment. This is a varied position requiring strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement.

This role requires flexibility to support the needs of the business, including working a combination of day and evening shifts as well as weekends and bank holidays.

Requirements

  • Carry out maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Diagnose faults, respond to breakdowns, and implement effective solutions to minimise operational downtime.
  • Undertake reactive and planned maintenance activities, including testing, inspection, and fault finding of electrical equipment.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in line with current regulations (e.g. BS 7671) and industry standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address issues before escalation.
  • Maintain and test life safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, generators, and UPS systems.
  • Carry out electrical isolations and de-isolations in accordance with safe systems of work.
  • Support the development and delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Undertake planned maintenance on HVAC control systems and other critical infrastructure.
  • Identify root causes of faults and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs using the Club’s BMS/CAFM system.
  • Participate in capital (Capex) projects, including planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of new equipment.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and support the installation of plant and systems.
  • Monitor and manage floodlighting systems during matches and update software as required.
  • Support Conference & Events (C&E) operations as required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and proactively identify and escalate risks or unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure correct use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to the Club’s sustainability policies at all times.
  • Plan, prioritise, and manage workload effectively to minimise disruption and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and suppliers to deliver work efficiently and within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear updates on maintenance activities and issues.

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment
  • Experience of fault finding, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance
  • Experience working with life safety systems (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting)
  • Experience supporting installation and commissioning of electrical systems or plant equipment

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection and Testing
  • IPAF, PASMA or similar access equipment certification
