The Role: Technician

Exciting opportunity for an experienced motivated Electrician to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team based in Garden Island NSW.

Reporting into the Electrical Workshop line Manager your primary responsibility will be to carry out electrical work including preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and new installations as required, both onboard naval and commercial vessels and in the Electrical workshop, following all relevant procedures and work practices.

We have multiple Electrician roles available based in Garden Island.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe and proper use of battery, electric and pneumatic (air) power tools and workshop machines.
  • Provide support to the team you are assigned to in all matters, no matter how small.
  • Running of cables onboard naval and commercial vessels.
  • Termination of fixed wiring onboard naval and commercial vessels
  • Fitting of cable support systems onboard naval and commercial vessels.
  • Soft Soldering of terminations within panels, junction boxes etc.

Your Skills:

  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate
  • A current Induction for Construction Work (White Card).
  • A current Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical Licence)
  • Job may include some Overtime ( evening and weekend hours).
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural, multi trade environment
  • Familiar with confined space and working at heights requirements
