As an Electrician, you are responsible to safely install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and electrical components on asphalt plants, aggregate plant equipment.

This position is year-round. Typical hours are M-F 6:00am-6:00pm and working occasional Saturdays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  • Electrical Apprentice.
  • An understanding of electrical theory and application.
  • Provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and applicable driving record.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements, i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)

  • Minimum 2-year degree from accredited college or university in related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in electrical field.
  • Class A Journey worker minimum, Master preferred.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job) An asterisk (*) indicates essential job functions that cannot be modified in order to fulfill the job requirements)

  • Responsible to safely install and repair electrical systems and electrical components at asphalt plants and aggregate equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following blueprints and electrical codes using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires using hand tools.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replace faulty electronic components such as circuit boards, soft starts, PLC5, VFD2 & remote-control systems
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine and positions sensing devices using hand tools. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors. Provide and maintain proper licensure, medical cared & acceptable driving record.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance
  • Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
