Under general supervision, the Electrician performs electrical work at the journey level to support the safe and reliable operation of Salisbury University’s facilities. This position installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures involving circuits carrying less than 13,000 volts. The Electrician ensures compliance with NEC, OSHA, and safety standards while supporting classrooms, laboratories, residential halls, athletic facilities, and administrative buildings. The role is critical to campus operations, providing both preventive maintenance and immediate response to outages and emergencies.
Authority and Accountability
Reports to: Manager of Building Trades, Keith J Brown.
Direct Reports: None.
Budgetary Responsibility: Prepares estimates for labor, time, and materials.
Authority: Provides guidance/training in electrical work to other staff; may lead projects.

The position is a full-time, non-exempt state role with comprehensive benefits.
