Purpose andImpact:Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time position in the role of an experienced Electrician to join their team in the Alice Springs Office

The electrician position reports to theMaintenanceSupervisor with day-to-day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer. You will perform the electrical maintenance and repair of domestic switchboards and equipment on residential propertiesin Alice Springs.Occasional overtime and callouts will berequired

Work Schedule:Monday toThursday0730- 1600Hrsand Friday 0730-1330Hrs(38 hour week)

EssentialResponsibilities:

• Maintenance tasks including programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs asrequired

• Perform fault finding asrequired

• Repair and replace faulty wiring and defectivepartsas necessary.

• Connect electrical systems to power supply.

• Test continuity of circuits.

• Perform tasks for project type work asrequired

• Liaise with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken asrequired

• Ensure equipment ismaintained to operate in a safe mannerin accordance withASNZ:3000.

• Report any incidents to management as a priority.

• Use computer systems to record and plan work tasks.

• Work as part of a team.

• Assistin other areas of facilities and maintenance from time to time asrequired

• Ensuresafety is an integral part of everyday activities.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Vesta management team. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Essential

• Trade Qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician

• Demonstrated 3-5 years’ experience in construction and domestic maintenance work

• Ability to be the Nominee for the company Electrical ContractorsLicence This requires either completion ofa NTContractors examination (or willing to do so) orhavebeen a nominee on an NT ContractorsLicencein the past 3 years.

• Ability to work within a team environment

• Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision.

• Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

• Good communicationskills – verbal and written

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks

• Demonstrated ability toidentifyandanalyseissues and develop solutions to problems

Desirable

• CPR/Low voltage rescue

• First Aid Certificate.

• Training inappropriate safetyprocedures (i.e., Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches etc.).

• NT Work safeHigh RiskWork – Boom type Elevated Work Platformlicence

TICKETS AND LICENCES

Minimum Essential

• Current Driver’s License

Desirable

• HR Driver’s License

Minimum Years of Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience as a trade qualified electrician.

Required Certifications:

• Trade qualification inan appropriatebuildingtrade

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Alice Springs climate ranges from cold winters to hot summers. Electrician activities include indoor and outdoor works in varying conditions. Activities include working in roof cavities and on roofs in these conditions.

Statement of Work Requirement

• At least 18 years of age.

• Able to fluently read, write and speak English

Clearance Required: It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain andretaintheappropriate levelof security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each roleThe employee will require a NV-1/SECRET Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian) or SSBI (U.S.) clearance.

Compensation Details:

AUS: $40.00 - $51.00
