Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a Tradesperson, Electrician to join the Liquids Transportation & Fractionation asset team based in Whitecourt South. Reporting to the Foreman, this role supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations through the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical systems across district assets.

This position plays a key role in advancing Pembina’s business strategy by ensuring strong asset performance, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across our Liquids Transportation network. Working collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, this role contributes to sustaining and enhancing existing assets, supporting safe operations, and enabling long-term growth aligned with Pembina’s strategic priorities.

This is a field-based position requiring regular travel across district sites, participation in an on-call rotation, and exposure to industrial and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Electrical Maintenance & Operations

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment;
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical distribution and control systems;
  • Complete installations, inspections, calibrations, and commissioning work; and
  • Support daily pipeline operations, including inspections and integrity activities.

Maintenance Planning & Reliability

  • Execute preventative maintenance programs to support equipment reliability;
  • Complete work orders and documentation in SAP/CMMS systems with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend corrective actions; and
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and model Pembina’s safety culture and Life Saving Rules in all work activities;
  • Execute safe work permits and oversee contractor work to ensure safe execution; and
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance maintenance activities are completed on time.

Collaboration & Field Execution

  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, and contractors to safely execute work;
  • Build effective working relationships grounded in respect and trust;
  • Manage contractors as required;
  • Participate in on-call rotation and outages; and
  • Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal or equivalent) with 5+ years of maintenance experience;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, including MCCs, motors, VFDs, and switchgear;
  • Familiarity with PLCs and other control and measurement equipment;
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP/Blueworx);
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams; and
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Whitecourt.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
