Electrical Trade Assistant -267073

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and safety‑focused Electrical Trades Assistant to support qualified Electricians in the delivery of high‑quality electrical services. This role plays a critical part in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing excellent service to our clients across construction and project environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

  • Assist qualified Electricians in the execution of electrical works
  • Perform duties while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
  • Supply, hold and manage hand tools for tradespeople
  • Assist with assembly and dismantling activities including screwing and bolting
  • Collect required materials, tools and supplies to complete tasks
  • Transport tools, materials and components to and from work areas
  • Prepare and clean work surfaces and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Operate hand tools and powered equipment such as grinders and jackhammers as instructed
  • Utilise licences and tickets (EWP, crane, dogging, telehandler, forklift) where held
  • Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and pre‑work planning
  • Actively engage in project‑specific training and development programs

Safety

  • Perform all work tasks in a safe and compliant manner
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees, contractors and visitors
  • Participate in daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
  • Use appropriate PPE and safety systems including JSA’s, checklists and risk assessments
  • Comply with and contribute to safe work procedures
  • Report hazards, incidents and near misses in line with company requirements
  • Participate in safety training and initiatives
  • Assist with safety input for reports, tenders and proposals when required

Other Responsibilities

  • Complete all site inductions as required by clients
  • Monitor and review site-specific work practices to ensure compliance and best practice
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development programs
  • Maintain a professional attitude, behaviour and presentation
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organised and safe
  • Comply with all UGL systems, processes, behaviours and standards

Policy & Procedure Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all UGL policies, procedures and guidelines, including but not limited to:
    • Code of Conduct
    • HR / People & Culture (EEO, Bullying & Harassment)
    • Health, Safety & Environment (including Fitness for Work)
    • IT usage and system access
  • Support commercial obligations, risk management and protection of intellectual property

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role on a construction site
  • Current Construction White Card
  • Full, current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (unrestricted working rights)
  • Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
  • Strong safety focus and good safety record

Desirable

  • Heavy Vehicle Licence
  • High Risk Work Licences: Dogman, CN Crane, Forklift
  • Working at Heights ticket
  • Telehandler ticket
