Job Description

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Electrical Test Engineer to support the Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC Inc 2) program. The selected candidate will support integration, verification, validation, and field-testing activities for advanced air and missile defense systems. This role requires a hands-on engineer with experience developing test procedures, executing laboratory and field tests, operating electrical and RF test equipment, and documenting test results in support of developmental and operational test objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with systems, software, electrical, and integration engineers to verify system performance and support delivery of mission-critical capabilities to U.S. Army customers.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Develop, review, and execute subsystem and system-level test procedures in support of integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities.
  • Generate detailed test reports, data packages, discrepancy reports, and technical documentation supporting program milestones and customer reviews.
  • Perform hands-on testing using laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
  • Support RF testing and troubleshooting of radar, communications, and weapon system interfaces.
  • Plan and execute electrical environmental testing including EMI/EMC, radiation effects, power quality, and other qualification activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of Special Test Equipment (STE), test fixtures, and automated test solutions.
  • Perform integration and troubleshooting of complex hardware and software systems in laboratory and field environments.
  • Support requirements verification and traceability activities through test planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Analyze test data, identify anomalies, perform root cause investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in developmental testing, system demonstrations, and government test events at customer and range facilities.
  • Support fielding activities and operational assessments in support of U.S. Army customers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve overall system performance.


Basic Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related STEM discipline with 4-8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Experience developing and executing electrical, integration, or system-level test procedures.
  • Experience generating formal test reports and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory electrical test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting RF testing, troubleshooting, and analysis activities.
  • Experience supporting electrical environmental testing including EMI/EMC, radiation, or similar qualification efforts.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and system integration issues.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet-based networking and network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% in support of field testing, customer demonstrations, and government test events.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications.

  • Experience supporting air and missile defense, tactical weapon systems, radar systems, or integrated sensor platforms.
  • Experience developing Special Test Equipment (STE), Automated Test Equipment (ATE), or custom test solutions.

  • Experience supporting Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), environmental qualification testing, or reliability testing.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with requirements verification methodologies.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

  • Experience with military communication systems, tactical networks, or distributed system architectures.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
