Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our electronics lab, supporting the test, characterization, and reverse engineering of battery-powered consumer electronics. This role sits at the intersection of hardware test engineering and technical analysis: the engineer will run performance testing on battery-powered devices, develop and design internal test protocols, and support Duracell business globally. The ideal candidate is comfortable with fundamental test equipment, capable of soldering and reworking PCB boards by hand, and able to read and develop electrical schematics.

  • Work with regional R&D team and commercial team to establish business strategies for regional/global initiatives (Claim and demonstration)
  • Characterize battery-powered devices using benchtop equipment.
  • Debug hardware issues and root cause analysis.
  • Perform precision soldering and rework on SMT and through-hole components, including fine-pitch work, using hot air, soldering iron, and microscopes.
  • Design or contribute to schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., test fixtures, breakout/adapter boards, rework carriers) to support lab test needs.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze electrical test data, producing clear technical reports with methodology, raw data, and conclusions suitable for engineering and leadership review.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and ESD-safe lab environment, including equipment calibration schedules and inventory of consumables and test hardware.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Bioelectrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with approximately 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals
  • Proficiency with fundamental bench test equipment: DC power supply, electronic loads, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, source meter etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, BOMs, PCB layout files, and component datasheets.
  • Hands-on soldering and rework skills
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in test lab environments
  • Proficiency with Excel for data analysis; comfortable working with structured measurement data.
  • Disciplined approach to ESD safety, lab safety, and traceable data management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce test reports
  • Self-starter who can take a test plan or teardown objective, execute independently, and escalate findings with supporting evidence.
