Play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical pipeline infrastructure. As an Electrical Technician II, you will maintain and optimize electrical and instrumentation systems across terminals, pump stations, and measurement facilities. Your technical expertise supports operational excellence and compliance every day.

What you will do:

  • Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, and PLC-based control systems supporting pipeline operations.

  • Inspect, test, and service a wide range of instrumentation devices, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters, switches, and hazardous gas detection systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and operational checks on pumps, motors, auxiliary equipment, and electrical distribution systems.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical switchgear, power distribution systems, and facility control systems to ensure safe, reliable performance.

  • Support mechanical activities as needed, including repairs to valves, actuators, pump seals, and measurement equipment.

  • Complete required documentation to support regulatory compliance and Operator Qualification standards, while coordinating contractor work when applicable.

  • Participate in on-call rotation, emergency response training (e.g., HAZWOPER, ICS), and provide after-hours support to address operational upsets.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience, along with 4 years of direct relevant Industry training and experience.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • Electrical Journeyman or participation in an accredited Apprenticeship Program

  • Industrial experience with HVAC/R

  • Knowledge/Experience with pump station, terminal, and pipeline facilities.

  • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, programmable logic controllers, motor control centers, uninterruptible power supplies, and instrumentation).

  • Electrical degree or background.

Working Conditions:

  • Climbing stairs on tanks.

  • Working at heights.

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Exposure to unpleasant working conditions (heat, noise, cold, dirt).

  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.

  • Driving to Remote Stations and Valve Sites.

  • Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after business hours. Must live within one hour of the primary reporting location.

Physical Requirements encompass but are not limited to:

Responsibilities include balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, and carrying up to 50 pounds. The job also demands grasping, kneeling, lifting 50 pounds, pulling with hand-over-hand technique, pushing, and reaching above shoulder height. Workers perform repetitive motions and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking. Visual requirements include screen viewing, detecting color codes, and reading fine print, along with hearing ability.

Mental Requirements encompass but are not limited to:

Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral or written instructions and other information. Understand complex problems and explore alternative solutions collaboratively. Coordinate thoughts and ideas into clear terminology. Prioritize and coordinate work schedules on a short-term basis. Make decisions that moderately impact the immediate work unit and monitor effects beyond this area. Follow basic instructions and guidelines. Complete routine forms and compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports. Communicate with individuals by telephone.
