Job Category: Journeyman Electrician, Performs preventive maintenance, operation and repair of mechanical equipment with a primary focus on electrical needs for Prestonwood Baptist Church and its entities (“PBC”)
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance work and programming on building automation systems with specific focus on electrical related equipment
- Perform inspection and repair major system equipment
- Install components necessary for building systems retrofits
- Provide operational skills to major building equipment including HVAC, electrical switchgear, fire alarm system, emergency generator, plumbing, etc.
- Inspect, test, service and monitor all electrical mechanical systems on a scheduled basis
- Test units and components under operational conditions to maintain performance and support development, standardization, and quality control
- Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommend changes in products or test methods
- Test and modify motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment components
- Modify electrical circuitry to correct functional deviations
- Diagnose cause of electrical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Install electrical, control and lighting circuitry
- Read, understand and modify building electrical architectural plans and equipment schematics
- Assist with set up and break down of all daily and special events
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Requirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- 2-4 year technical, college, or university program certificate preferred
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training may substitute for educational requirement
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required
- EPA universal certificate in HVAC required
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, prior OSHA training preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools, equipment, and safety practices
- Ability to read basic technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and equipment manuals
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work inside or outside in varying heat and cold consistent with weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts; including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and PBC scheduled events
- Possess a current driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for clearance to drive PBC owned/rented vehicles
- Ability to perform physical activities requiring moving one’s whole body, such as climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, to work at heights exceeding 4’ and at a desk with a computer screen for periods of time
