Job Description

Position Summary:

The Electrical Technician supports the assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical and electronic components used in vehicles, sensors, and computing systems. This role focuses on hands‑on cable and hardware work, supporting engineering in hardware integration, software bring‑up, and field testing. Work is completed under general supervision, with an emphasis on quality, organization, and consistent technical execution.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assemble electrical and electronic hardware, including crimping, soldering, cable fabrication, connector integration, and panel or enclosure assembly.
  • Wire components per electrical schematics and follow established assembly guidelines.
  • Perform electrical testing on completed cables and assemblies to identify and resolve defects.
  • Troubleshoot electrical hardware failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support software bring‑up and testing of sensors, computers, and other electronics.
  • Support day‑to‑day troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues and assist with hardware changes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑compliant workspace.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff on integration activities for vehicle‑based electronics.
  • Travel occasionally to support remote vehicle testing and on‑site troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technician program; equivalent military experience accepted.
  • Approximately 3 years of hands‑on experience in electrical assembly, electronics testing, or technician‑level engineering support.
  • Proficiency with crimping tools, soldering, cable assembly, and reading electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills applied to routine and moderately complex electrical issues.
  • Ability to operate standard hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for field testing support.

Preferred

  • Ability to draft cable drawings or wiring diagrams.
  • Experience writing work instructions or assembly/test procedures.
