Job Description

Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure

DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started.

As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.

If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.

About DayOne
DayOne builds and operates hyperscale data centers across nine markets in APAC and Europe. We raised US$4.5B in Series C funding and are in active build across the region. Our Hong Kong campus sits at the centre of one of Asia-Pacific's most connected cities, a global financial hub with some of the world's densest submarine cable landings. The infrastructure here supports critical digital services that businesses and communities across the region depend on every day.

About the Role
You'll maintain and troubleshoot the electrical infrastructure on a live hyperscale data centre site, working within a shift team responsible for keeping critical power systems running without interruption. This is hands-on work on energised, mission-critical equipment where safety discipline and accurate documentation matter as much as technical skill.

Maintenance and Inspection

  • Perform electrical maintenance on LV panels, breakers, UPS auxiliary components, and power distribution equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, document findings accurately, and escalate abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Replace electrical components including fans, fuses, sensors, indicator lights, and small control devices.

Fault Response and Troubleshooting

  • Support fault investigations and troubleshooting under the direction of the site electrical engineer.
  • Respond to electrical incidents including UPS alarms, breaker trips, and abnormal readings.
  • Escalate faults beyond your scope promptly rather than attempting resolution independently.

Safety and Documentation

  • Work to electrical safety standards at all times including LOTO, arc-flash protection, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Support implementation of MOPs, SOPs, and emergency response procedures for electrical work.
  • Maintain electrical tools and PPE in serviceable condition and keep all work records complete.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (IVE/VTC or equivalent), or an EMSD-recognised trade qualification.
  • Practical experience working to LOTO, arc-flash, and permit-to-work procedures on energised systems.
  • Cantonese for team and contractor communication, plus working English for documentation, MOPs, and SOPs.
  • Able and willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Why DayOne?
DayOne is a global data centre operator, not a contractor or an agency, and the Hong Kong campus is a permanent site with a permanent team. You'll work on modern critical infrastructure, to standards set across nine markets, with a shift team around you and clear escalation lines.

DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

If you're ready to grow with one of the fastest-moving companies in the data center industry, apply now and be part of our global journey.
