About the Role:

At BioNTech, we are establishing a cutting-edge mRNA research and manufacturing facility in Melbourne, designed to advance vaccine candidates and strengthen Australia’s mRNA ecosystem. As an Electrician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical systems and production equipment. Your contributions will directly support groundbreaking research and clinical trials that align with BioNTech's mission to revolutionize medicine.

Your Contribution:

  • Participate in hand-over training from the construction team for electrical plant and equipment, setting up preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and utilities in line with approved schedules.
  • Conduct routine calibration of instruments, coordinating with external service providers as needed.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment issues, identifying root causes and minimizing downtime through effective repairs.
  • Enhance maintenance plans through continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for electrical equipment to ensure timely availability for maintenance or repairs.
  • Supervise and coordinate external maintenance service providers while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Adhere to company standards for Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory requirements.

A Good Match:

  • Victorian Grade A Electrician license is essential.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or food industry is preferred.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting and general maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and electronic maintenance software.
  • High sense of responsibility coupled with teamwork skills; structured, reliable, and meticulous work style.
  • Familiarity with cGMP standards and good documentation practices is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration within dynamic cross-functional teams.
