Job Description

DataVolt is a global leader in sustainable and innovative data center solutions. We provide businesses across the world with the infrastructure they need to connect, collaborate, and grow in the data-driven landscape of today. Our solutions focus on security, reliability, scalability, and sustainability, empowering our clients to truly achieve digital transformation. We have strategically positioned operations in Riyadh, Dubai, California, Mumbai and Tashkent and are committed to shaping a sustainable digital future through groundbreaking innovation.

Responsibilities:

The Critical Facility Technician (CFT) is a hands-on operational role responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems in a colocation data center. Working within a structured 24/7 shift pattern, the CFT is the eyes, hands, and first responder for all critical facility systems, monitoring plant, executing preventive maintenance, responding to alarms, and escalating incidents in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Performing routine inspections and readings on UPS systems = recording mode, input/output voltages, load percentage, battery state of charge, and alarm status
  • Performing pre-start inspections on diesel generators — checking fuel level, oil level, coolant level, battery voltage, and all safety guards before scheduled test starts
  • Conducting supervised manual test starts of generators and recording all parameters during the run
  • Inspecting PDUs, RPPs, and distribution boards — recording load readings per phase and circuit, identifying unbalanced loads or circuits approaching threshold
  • Assisting the CFE with electrical switching operations under permit-to-work — acting as second person for safety-critical switching
  • Performing thermographic inspections of electrical panels and connections (where trained and authorized)
  • Monitoring and logging generator fuel levels, arranging fuel deliveries when the level falls below the defined threshold
  • Supporting the CFE with UPS battery inspections including terminal voltage measurement, connection integrity checks, and visual inspection for leakage or swelling

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical maintenance, operations, or engineering role in a relevant discipline
  • Vocational qualification, trade certificate, or technical college diploma in Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Building Automation, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow technical procedures, checklists, and maintenance schedules
  • Qualified electrician — 2nd or 3rd category (Uzbekistan classification) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of LV distribution, circuit protection, and earthing systems
  • Experience operating or maintaining UPS systems or generators (advantageous)
  • Competent use of test equipment: multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester
  • Prior experience in a data center, telecommunications facility, hospital, or other mission-critical environment
  • Uptime Institute CDCTP — Certified Data Center Technician Professional, or willingness to achieve within 18 months of appointment
  • General Industry Safety certification or local equivalent health and safety qualification
  • Formal LOTO training and authorization
