Job Description

Keep one of Sydney’s most critical motorways and tunnel networks safe, moving and operational 24/7. Join our Electrical & Mechanical team who work across the Northern Assets Network.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Team Leader to provide frontline leadership while supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities across complex, safety‑critical assets. This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster and combines hands‑on technical work with day‑to‑day crew supervision.


About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, leadership experience, and a safety‑first mindset, along with:

  • Qualified Electrician, with demonstrated experience in tunnel environments, water treatment plants, or other fixed‑plant infrastructure (mechanical exposure desirable)

  • Experience leading or acting in a Leading Hand / Senior Technician capacity

  • Proven capability in electrical routine maintenance, breakdown response, and fault finding

  • Ability to work a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster, including 12‑hour shifts

  • A strong commitment to quality outcomes, delivering work in full and on time

  • Current C Class driver’s licence (MR licence desirable)

  • A strong safety focus, actively supporting and promoting Downer’s Zero Harm initiatives
