Job Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the installation, adjustment, modification, maintenance, and dismantling of all temporary electrical systems on construction sites, workers' accommodations, fabrication areas, and major equipment such as tower cranes, construction hoists, and mobile cranes. Ensure full compliance with DOSH and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of distribution boards, power cables, grounding systems, and residual current devices (RCDs).
  • Perform regular insulation resistance and grounding resistance tests.
  • Identify and rectify electrical hazards such as leakage currents, aging cables, and unauthorized wiring, ensuring timely corrective actions and proper closure.
  • Lead and supervise electricians and apprentices in daily temporary electrical works.
  • Conduct pre-work safety briefings, monitor work execution, standardize work procedures, and ensure work quality, safety compliance, and site discipline.
  • Manage, maintain, and calibrate temporary electrical distribution boards, cables, electrical accessories, and electrician tools.
  • Maintain inventory records, control material usage and wastage, and ensure all electrical equipment and tools remain in good working condition and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Strictly implement the site temporary electrical safety standard of "One Machine, One Switch, One RCD, One Distribution Box."
  • Ensure Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements are followed for high-risk activities.
  • Maintain inspection and testing records for temporary electrical systems and support project management as well as regulatory compliance inspections.
  • During the project energization phase, work closely with Electrical Engineers to support power energization, shutdown, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues during project close-out and assist with site cleaning, rectification works, final inspections, and project handover.
  • Manage the site housekeeping team to maintain site cleanliness and ensure proper drainage and removal of standing water.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies such as power outages, short circuits, and electrical leakage.
  • Implement emergency measures for electrical shock and electrical fire prevention, ensuring stable power supply and maintaining a zero-incident safety record.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must possess the following certifications: DOSH Electrical Competency Certificate, OSHC Safety Certificate, CIDB Green Card
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in temporary electrical works on construction sites in Malaysia, with a good understanding of DOSH and OSHA construction safety requirements.
  • Able to independently carry out temporary electrical installations, maintenance, insulation and grounding resistance testing, and electrical fault troubleshooting.
  • Capable of leading a work crew, following management instructions, and demonstrating a strong safety mindset.
  • Experience in project close-out activities, power energization, and coordination with site housekeeping teams is an added advantage.

Location: Klang, Selangor

Salary Range: Up to RM6k
