Electrical Supervisor - Ama, LA
This is an exempt level position.

This position supervises electricians and contract electrician employees to ensure a reliable and safe electrical system for the facility. Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent, but also works with department production superintendents and department supervisors to plan and perform electrical tasks as required, assuring efficient operations. The position is also highly involved in applying electrical reliability practices to avoid maintenance expense and equipment outages where possible. They will take an active role in managing the electrical group and coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent, and fair.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring proper execution of scheduled electrical work as planned by the Maintenance Planner
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of electrical colleagues
  • Ensures that all PPE and electrical rules are being followed while work is being performed
  • Works with production to prioritize required repair work and to ensure that the procedures for monitoring equipment meet the needs of the company
  • Coaches employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety, and other related appraisal criteria
  • Uses Maximo and other computer systems to maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of electrical information
  • Monitors work accomplished for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and GMPs against accepted department and company standards
  • Supports and complies with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
  • Other similar duties as assigned


Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to establish expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service, and productivity
  • Good decision-making ability and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products and computerized maintenance management software
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience and ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be customer-focused and proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization and planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required
  • Required to work overtime when breakdowns occur


Education/Training Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in a mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation-related field is preferred


Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance/troubleshooting
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Rockwell PLCs a plus

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$58,100.00 - $108,000.00
