Position Overview:


Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As an Electro-Mechanical Technician I, you will support a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.


Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am


What your day-to-day will look like:


  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.

  • Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.

  • Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.

  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.

  • Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.

  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.


To thrive in this role, you have:


  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment

  • Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries.

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly

  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English

  • Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful.

  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required

. The base hourly rate range for this position in Lexington, NC is $18.00– $21.96, plus an additional 10% for shift differential. The hourly rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
