Job Description

The opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll simply supervise a crew and tick boxes.

We're looking for an Electrical Supervisor to lead the construction delivery of major power infrastructure projects, ensuring sites are built safely, efficiently and right first time.

Working across HV substation and transmission projects, you'll be the link between planning and execution, coordinating construction partners, managing field teams and solving challenges before they impact delivery. If you enjoy being in the thick of the action, leading people and driving projects forward, this is the role for you.

What you'll do

  • Lead construction activities
  • Manage construction partners and internal delivery teams to achieve project milestones
  • Review drawings, scopes and build packs to ensure works are ready for execution
  • Coordinate site access, permits, materials and resources to keep projects moving
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and constructability reviews
  • Support commissioning activities and resolve technical issues in the field
  • Work closely with clients, engineers and project stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
  • Champion a strong Zero Harm culture and quality-first mindset

What we offer

  • Opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that powers communities
  • Diverse projects across substations and transmission networks
  • Career development within a leading infrastructure business
  • Supportive team culture focused on collaboration and delivery excellence
  • Suite of Downer benefits, including health and wellbeing initiatives

What we're looking for

  • Electrical trade qualification, Electrical Contractors Licence or relevant engineering background
  • Experience delivering HV electrical, substation or major infrastructure projects
  • Secondary and protection systems experience
  • Comfortable working within live operational environments
  • Experience in outage planning and coordination
  • Strong background managing contractors and site-based construction activities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation
  • Proven leadership skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality and construction delivery requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
