Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Site Engineer to join our team for a major airport infrastructure project in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing shop drawings, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the shop drawings, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, earthing, LV/MV power distribution systems, and backup power systems (Generators), UPS systems for airport infrastructure and Lighting systems (landside, airside).
  • Review electrical design drawings, shop drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with project requirements, local and international codes (NEC, IEC, NFPA, IES, BS, TIA and UPTIME), and aviation standards.
  • Review data center and power supply for mission critical electrical shop drawings, including critical power, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, grounding, and redundancy provisions, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to ensure timely execution of electrical works as per project schedules.
  • Conduct site inspections, testing, and quality checks to ensure proper implementation of electrical systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to electrical works and propose value engineering solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, and submittals, and reviewing contractor documentation for approvals.
  • Support procurement activities, including review of vendor submittals and material approvals.
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, ensuring project requirements are met.
  • Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with mechanical, ICT, civil, and airport-specific technologies.
  • Ensure electrical systems comply with; ICAO standards, FAA / EASA airfield lighting guidelines, IATA recommendations, IEC / IEEE electrical standards, and Local authority regulations
  • Review contractor method statements and inspection test plans.
  • Participate in energization and ORAT readiness activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation for handover.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in airport infrastructure, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV), and airport electrical systems (airfield lighting, GPUs, AGL, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, NFPA, BS, IES, TIA and UPTIME, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with shop drawing reviews, electrical calculations, and load analysis using software like ETAP, DIALux, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Experience working with consulting firms or major engineering firms on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address design and construction challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills in English and Arabic.
  • PMP, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus.
