Job Description

Tritium is a global leader in DC fast charging technology for electric vehicles — and we're looking for a Safety Specialist who's as serious about electrical safety as we are about the energy transition.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at our Brisbane headquarters. You'll be the go-to expert for site-wide WHS, with a sharp focus on the electrical risks that come with high-voltage test environments, live prototype builds, and switchboard operations. You won't be waiting for someone to tell you what needs fixing — you'll already be on it.

What You'll Own

  • The facility's Electrical Safety Management Plan, kept current with Queensland's Electrical Safety Act 2002 and WHS Act 2011
  • Electrical hazard identification, risk assessment, and controls across test rigs, switchboard operations, and prototype builds
  • SWMS and JSAs for all high-risk electrical work — live testing, switchboard access, prototype operations
  • Site LOTO procedures and electrical isolation standards
  • Electrical contractor safety management — before and during all on-site work
  • Incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
  • Regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard register management
  • Safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training for a technically sharp engineering workforce
  • Notifiable incident reporting to the ESO and WHSQ as required
  • Safety performance reporting to leadership, including leading and lagging indicators

What You'll Bring

  • An A-grade electrical licence OR an electrical/WHS degree with solid hands-on electrical field safety experience
  • 5+ years in electrical safety within industrial, manufacturing, or high-voltage environments
  • Proven hands-on experience with switchboard safety, LOTO, and high-voltage work
  • The ability to run a safety program autonomously — you don't need a manager to drive the agenda
  • Working knowledge of the Queensland Electrical Safety Act 2002, WHS Act 2011, AS/NZS 3000, and AS 4836
  • The credibility and communication skills to influence a team of engineers through technical expertise, not just policy

Bonus Points For

  • Formal ESO Electrical Safety Supervisor (ESS) appointment
  • Background in EV charging, power systems, electronics manufacturing, or renewables
  • Incident investigation training — ICAM, TapRoot, or equivalent
  • Experience building or rebuilding a safety management system from the ground up
  • Comfort working in prototype or R&D environments where procedures are still being developed

Why Tritium?

  • Work on technology that’s genuinely shaping the future of transport, not just talking about it.
  • See your impact in the real world, with our chargers deployed globally.
  • Free on-site DC fast charging for your EV.
  • Novated leasing and meaningful employee savings benefits.
  • Flexible access to your earned wages.
  • Global career pathways in a high-performance engineering environment.
  • Half-day each month to spend however you choose — no agenda, no deliverables, just time that's yours.
