Job Description

Our award-winning client is seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer to join their team.The Electrical Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the reliability and performance of the site's electrical equipment. This role will drive a culture of reliability across the organization, optimize maintenance programs, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement RCM strategies for electrical equipment and oversee their execution.
  • Maintain and update Asset Management Plans based on equipment failures, process changes, and preventative maintenance (PM) data.
  • Develop, audit, and improve electrical equipment PM programs to ensure optimal equipment health and effectiveness.
  • Lead the site's predictive maintenance & condition monitoring program for electrical equipment.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for new or modified PM requests, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
  • Provide risk-based prioritization support for turnaround (T&I) work scope development.
  • Investigate and document high-impact electrical equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide reliability support and consultation for critical equipment failures, assisting in problem analysis, risk assessment, and root cause determination.
  • Identify and address "bad actors" – equipment with high failure rates and significant production impact – through root cause analysis and effective mitigation strategies.
  • Perform design for reliability reviews for capital projects involving electrical equipment, ensuring reliability considerations are integrated into project design.
  • Evaluate maintenance and capital project alternatives based on economic and risk analyses, including life cycle cost assessments.
  • Develop capital investment and expense project ideas based on reliability analyses and feedback from operations and other site personnel.
  • Provide early input on project maintainability and reliability considerations during project development.
  • Develop and implement risk-based improvement plans for the site's electrical infrastructure.
  • Actively participate in environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support other employees in achieving site goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fixed equipment inspection, reliability, or maintenance engineering within a petrochemical or refining environment.
  • Current or ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) certification.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office applications.
