Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead delivery on a large-scale, multi-year solar farm project based in Charleville, Cork This is a key role within the project team, responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects from planning through to commissioning, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in electrical systems, and experience managing large infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all electrical works on-site, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.
  2. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet project milestones.
  3. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  4. Monitor project progress and report on key metrics to senior management.
  5. Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations and environmental policies.
  6. Review technical drawings and specifications, resolving any design issues.
  7. Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
  8. Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Lead project handover and ensure all documentation is completed and submitted.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in electrical project management, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure.
  3. Proven ability to manage large-scale electrical installations.
  4. Strong understanding of solar PV systems and grid connection requirements.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
