Job Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical, mechanical, control, internal, or component aspects of various transformer types (power, distribution, special purpose).
* Conduct detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses (e.g., thermal, mechanical stress, electromagnetic) to validate designs.
* Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and other design documentation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and sales to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Perform root cause analysis for design-related issues and implement corrective actions.
* Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in transformer design.
* Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
* Contribute to intellectual property development and patent applications as applicable.
* Identify and implement design improvements for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in the design and development of transformers or related heavy electrical equipment.
* Strong understanding of transformer principles, including electromagnetic theory, thermal management, insulation systems, and mechanical integrity.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI/IEEE).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with material selection for high-voltage applications is a plus.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to transformer production is desirable.
