The Electrical Manager – Wind Construction is responsible for execution of electrical BoP including EHV substations, PSS, 33kV & EHV lines, ensuring compliance and techno commercial support.

Detailed Job description

  • Lead execution of EHV/AIS/GIS substations, PSS.
  • Oversee 33 kV and EHV transmission lines.
  • Ensure compliance with SLDs, protection, control, earthing.
  • Coordinate execution with BoP, SCADA, WTG teams.
  • Resolve all RoW issues for EHV and 33kV lines with EPC and authorities.
  • Conduct site inspections, progress monitoring, and as-built documentation; facilitate grid connectivity approvals with CTU/STU and DISCOMs.
  • BOQ validation, cost optimization.
  • Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documents for EPC contracts; review subcontractor drawings and ensure alignment with CEA (Technical Standards for Construction of Electrical Plants and Electric Lines) Regulations
  • Prepare work plans and resource schedules.
  • Coordinate with contractors and Project Manager for smooth execution of electrical works.
  • Ensure QA/QC, FAT/SAT, safety compliance.
  • Review drawings, supervise contractors
  • Lead commissioning and handover.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's in Power Systems or Transmission Engineering preferred.
  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in Power evacuation including EHV,PSS,and 33kv lines. transmission line engineering, with at least 5 years in renewable energy projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian standards: CEA Regulations, IS 5613 (conductor sag/tension).

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications: IEI Chartered Engineer, PMP, or ETAP/PLS-CADD advanced training.
  • Experience in HVDC/FACTS integration for renewables evacuation or underground cabling in urban corridors.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools (PLS-CADD, ETAP, DIgSILENT); expertise in load flow studies, fault analysis, and EMF assessments.
  • Project Skills: Strong in cost estimation (using tools like MS Excel or Primavera), contract management, and value engineering for BoM reductions.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder engagement (e.g., with forest departments for clearances); leadership in cross-functional teams; problem-solving in high-stakes environments.
