Job Description:

The Electrical Manager will be accountable to the Technical and Project Leadership, to own and lead the successful delivery of all electrical (power and light current) systems associated with the Pyramids Sound and Light New Experience Project (Echoes of the Pyramids), and to lead the Operation and Maintenance of these systems after handover, as well as any further projects to come by the company.

The EM duties will extend throughout all project phases, from design review and construction until testing, commissioning and handover, and will continue on a permanent basis into the operation of the show, covering the following two phases:

1. Project Delivery: Site Development Project until handover to operations.
2. Operation and Maintenance: of all electrical systems powering the show and the venue, from show launch onwards.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Project Delivery Duties:

• Ensure full awareness of Project Site, OSL obligations, Project Budget, Timeline, and Project Requirements.
• Represent OSL before all 3rd parties and sister companies, in all matters related to the delivery of electrical disciplines throughout the Project lifespan.
• Ensure full coordination takes place amongst Project Workstreams and amongst disciplines of each workstream.
• Own and lead the delivery of electrical disciplines (by others) throughout remaining project stages until handover and commissioning, including the following:
• Design and design review: participate in any outstanding design review process, ensure timely reply to each designer, and implementation of review comments.
• Ensure all designs align with other systems capabilities (particularly Audio Visual and Lighting), and with the Visitor Center and site MEP systems.
• Implementation: review submittals, shop drawings, method statements and material submittals against project requirements and best practice.
• Testing and commissioning: witness and approve factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests and integrated systems tests.
• Handover: verify as built drawings, O&M manuals, test certificates, warranties and spare parts lists before taking over.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for electrical items directly obtained by OSL.
• Provide periodical reporting on the progress of electrical disciplines and highlight any current or prospective issues that would impact the budget and/ or finish date of the project.
• Act as a mediator in case of disagreement amongst different parties of the project to ensure the smooth delivery and alignment of all parties.

B. Operation and Maintenance Duties:

• Lead and own the technical operation of all electrical systems after project handover, including:
• Medium and low voltage distribution, transformers and switchgear.
• Standby generators, UPS and automatic transfer systems.
• Power supply to the show Audio Visual and Lighting equipment.
• Architectural, landscape and venue lighting.
• Earthing and lightning protection.
• Light current and ELV infrastructure, and electrical interfaces with fire alarm, fire suppression and building management systems.
• Operations readiness: lead the electrical part of the operations readiness plan, including staffing, shift patterns, procedures, tools, and the transition from contractor to OSL operation.
• Show operations support: ensure all electrical systems are fully available before each show, run pre show checks, and provide on site cover during show hours in coordination with the AV and Lighting team.
• Preventive maintenance: develop, implement and update the planned preventive maintenance program in line with manufacturer requirements, warranties and international standards.
• Corrective maintenance and emergency response: lead fault diagnosis and repair, maintain an on call and escalation roster, and prepare a root cause analysis for every critical failure.
• Power resilience: ensure standby power is tested regularly so that shows and life safety systems continue without interruption during utility failures.
• Maintenance contracts: define scopes, support tendering, and manage the performance of maintenance contractors and suppliers against agreed service levels, including warranty and defects liability claims.
• Spare parts and inventory: define critical spares, set minimum stock levels and maintain an accurate electrical inventory.
• Asset records: maintain the asset register, as built documentation, maintenance history, and a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) where introduced.
• Energy management: monitor energy consumption and propose efficiency initiatives.
• Budgeting: prepare and control the annual electrical O&M budget covering contracts, spares, energy and upgrades.
• Continuous improvement: track system performance, recommend upgrades or replacements, and plan works so they do not disrupt show operations or visitor experience.
• Evaluate technical issues related to operations and direct the responsible party to address such issues.
• Work with the project technical team and the operations technical team to deliver and operate a safe, successful, and sustainable project.

C. Health, Safety and Compliance:

• Own electrical safety across the site, including permit to work, lock out and tag out, and safe isolation procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian electrical codes, utility and civil defense requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Ensure all electrical work respects the constraints of the Giza Plateau as a protected antiquities site and the requirements of the relevant authorities.
• Keep statutory inspections, testing and certifications valid at all times.

D. Team Leadership and Reporting:

• Lead, train and develop the in house electrical technicians and supervise contractor personnel on site.
• Ensure operations staff receive proper training from systems and equipment suppliers before handover.
• Report to the direct manager at an agreed interval on project status, system performance, incidents, maintenance compliance, risks and budget.
• Treat all project information as 100% confidential.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Power), and membership of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, of which minimum 5 years performing similar duties, and minimum 5 years in leadership position(s).
• Proven experience with both power systems and light current systems.
• Demonstrated experience in Operation and Maintenance of electrical systems in a live facility (e.g., entertainment venue, attraction, hotel, stadium, airport or large mixed use development).
• Experience in both design and construction is a great plus.
• Experience with preventive maintenance planning and CMMS is preferable.
• Full Awareness of International standards and Egyptian codes of the required field of expertise.
• Strong Communication, problem solving, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
• Minimum good English Language skills (spoken and written).
• Strong MS office and auto cad skills. BIM/ Revit knowledge is preferable.
• Project Management Knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly during live operations.

Working Conditions:

The role is primarily site based. As shows run in the evening, working hours follow the show schedule, including evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis, with on call availability for emergencies.
