Our Integrated Weapons & Sensors (IWS) team have been supporting Australian soldiers for over 100 years – designing, developing and manufacturing a range of small arms for military use. YOUR ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team and deliver electrical maintenance, repair, and installation services across the Lithgow facility. The position primarily involves Preventative Maintenance (PM) and breakdown maintenance, along with the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
Working at our Lithgow site, on Wiradjuri, Gundungurra and Darug Land, some of your key responsibilities include:
Responding to electrical maintenance requirements, working closely with the Industrial Maintenance Lead - Electrical to ensure priorities are understood and delivered effectively.
Diagnosing faults and apply structured problem-solving to determine and implement appropriate solutions within scope of skills and experience.
Performing breakdown and preventative maintenance (PM) on plant and equipment.
Identify, source, manufacture, or repair replacement components as required.
Assist in the preparation of ‘scope of work’ for electrical repairs, maintenance, and installation activities to support contractor engagement.
Assisting in the management, coordination and supervision of contractors where required.
Ensuring safety and functionality of equipment before recommission/hand over.
Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work performed utilising our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) MEX.
Communicating progress of your tasks to internal customers/suppliers directly and via the Industrial Maintenance Lead – Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Manager.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Required skills and qualifications:
Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrical Trade Certificate) or equivalent.
Current NSW Qualified Supervisor Certificate or Electrical Contractor Licence.
Strong ability to identify, assess, and manage risk with minimal supervision.
Sound working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules).
Strong industrial fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and diagrams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) above 11m.
Working At Heights.
EWP Operator Licence - Yellow card.
Confined Space.
