About the role:

Our Rollingstock Maintenance team is currently seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Maintainer to join us on a full-time basis in Cairns. In this role, you will provide safe, efficient, and reliable electrical and mechanical services to Kuranda Scenic Railway Operations as well as other areas within the Travel & Tourism Maintenance Depot, Portsmith.

Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on rollingstock and equipment.
  • Use computer systems to record maintenance, repairs and materials used.
  • Support carriage overhaul and refurbishment programs.
  • Respond to derailments and in-service defects with timely repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve maintenance goals.
  • Follow all safety, environmental and company policies.
  • Maintain depot cleanliness and a safe work environment.
  • Carry out other duties as required to support operations.

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

  • Hold a current manual ‘C’ class driver’ licence
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently as part of team
  • A strong commitment to safe working practices and zero harm

You must also hold one of the below:

Electrical Fitter and Mechanical Licence

Electrical Fitter Licence

Electrical Mechanical Licence

Hours and Salary:

This position offers an 8-day fortnight roster. With the current roster, and allowances you have the potential to earn over $135,000 annually plus 12.75% superannuation.
