About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team at our Mornington depot.

The primary focus of the Electrical Inspector is to ensure compliance work for metering and servicing is undertaken and business hour’s fault inspections are attended.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Attend to customer phone calls and enquiries and assist customer projects with compliance issues involving rules, regulations, standards and policies
  • Customer approvals of switchboards, metering and supply arrangements. Orchestrate and finalise the United Energy customer exemptions process
  • Attend site meetings with customers and project managers as per their request and assist Network Connections team with all metering and connection or customer project queries
  • Provide technical guidance to Registered Electrical Contractors. Conduct on site audits of metering and servicing lines crews
  • Attend, investigate and issue customer defect notices
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding defects in relation to metering and servicing appointments
  • Assist customer relations with investigations, finalisation and closing of defects issued to customers

About You

To be considered for this role you will require a sound knowledge of systems and technical information with practical experience in electrical inspection and customer service delivery and the ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.

  • Possess a sound understanding of all regulatory, VSIR and VESI procedures and activities related to electrical electricity distribution asset
  • Resolve complex issues in a creative and effective manner in order to meet customer and client objectives for the agreed work through the application of approved governance
  • Previous background in High Voltage networks highly regarded
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology; Hold active “A” Grade Electrical licence with a G Class Electrical Inspectors Licence
  • ESI Worker Card (mandatory VESI training as per the VESI Matrix for Electrical Inspector
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
