Electrical Improver – South Coast
Southampton / South Coast (Mobile Role)

About the Company

Our client is a growing electrical contractor delivering works across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects and ongoing maintenance contracts across the South Coast, they are looking to bring in reliable and experienced Electrical Improvers to support their qualified engineers.

The business operates across a variety of systems including general electrical installations, maintenance, solar PV, EV charging, fire alarms, and security systems, offering a well-rounded and varied workload.

The Role

This is a subcontract opportunity for an Electrical Improver to support electricians across a range of sites. You will assist with installations, maintenance, and basic fault finding, gaining exposure to a variety of environments and systems.

Work is available on an ongoing basis, up to 5 days per week, with long-term potential for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Assisting electricians with installations across domestic, commercial, and industrial sites
• 
  Supporting with containment (tray, trunking, conduit) and cabling
• 
  Assisting with maintenance works and reactive call-outs
• 
  Carrying out basic fault finding under supervision
• 
  Supporting with EICRs and remedial works where required
• 
  Using app-based systems to log works, upload photos, and complete timesheets
• 
  Maintaining a professional and reliable approach on site

Requirements

• 
  Previous experience as an Electrical Improver or Mate
• 
  Level 2 or working towards Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• 
  18th Edition (preferred but not essential)
• 
  ECS Card
• 
  Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
• 
  Own basic tools
• 
  Reliable, organised, and willing to learn

Desirable Experience

• 
  Experience working across commercial or industrial sites
• 
  Exposure to fire alarms, security systems, or EV charging
• 
  Basic understanding of testing and inspection
