Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the development and deployment of autonomous mobile robots and AGV platforms. You will work across the full hardware development lifecycle, from electrical design and documentation through prototype build, integration, testing, supplier coordination, and field deployment. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys turning designs into working machines and solving real-world engineering problems.

Electrical Design & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness designs using SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent ECAD tools.
  • Design and update power distribution, wiring systems, electrical components, and interfaces for AGV/robotic platforms.
  • Maintain accurate electrical specifications, design documentation, and technical records throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure electrical designs meet applicable safety, quality, and engineering requirements.

Design Management & Handover

  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), component specifications, revision history, and engineering change records.
  • Manage electrical design revisions and ensure documentation remains aligned with the latest hardware configuration.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, development partners, and contract manufacturers on technical requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and quality of electrical components and assemblies.
  • Support design handover from engineering to production, manufacturing, and service teams.

Build, Test & Field Support

  • Build and integrate electrical prototypes, including wiring, harnesses, control panels, and electrical assemblies.
  • Install, commission, and test electrical systems on AGV/robotic platforms.
  • Support laboratory, factory, and field testing; troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Investigate hardware issues and implement design improvements based on test and field feedback.
  • Maintain accurate drawings and documentation as hardware evolves during development and testing.
  • Support evaluation and introduction of new electrical technologies, components, and suppliers.
  • Stay current with relevant industry technologies, engineering practices, and automation trends.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, operations, and project teams, as well as customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and contract manufacturers.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience in electrical hardware, industrial automation, robotics, panel building, wiring, or related engineering work.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical schematics and cable/harness design; SolidWorks Electrical experience is preferred, but other ECAD tools are acceptable.
  • Able to read, interpret, and produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and test procedures.
  • Practical understanding of electrical components, wiring, power distribution, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined in engineering documentation, revision control, and configuration management.
  • Hands-on and comfortable working with prototypes, tools, electrical assemblies, and test equipment.
  • Able to work independently while communicating effectively with cross-functional and external teams.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot and modify embedded C code for microcontrollers, and conduct full system-level integration and testing of MCU-based PCBAs.
