The Graduate Trainee Engineer will work closely, in an entry-level, probationary capacity, with a US-based team of experienced engineers and consultants to learn engineering solutions to ensure positive outcomes.
Key Focus Areas
The Graduate Trainee Engineer (Probation) will focus on building a strong foundational knowledge base and developing the skills necessary to execute tasks accurately and efficiently. During this probationary period, the trainee will work under close supervision, receiving guidance and support from experienced engineers. A key focus will be on utilizing and learning design software relevant to the industry, ensuring the trainee gains proficiency in essential tools. The Graduate Trainee Engineer will also be expected to attend training sessions to further enhance their technical skills and understanding of industry practices. Additionally, the trainee must demonstrate a commitment to understanding and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
• Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
• Professional attitude and an abidance to company policies and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education and Experience
• B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering required
• 0 to 2 years of experience in a related field required
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
