Job Description

Te kōwhiringa | The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Line Mechanic or Electrical Fitter to join our Energy & Utilities team based in the Coromandel on a full-time permanent basis.

In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality workmanship across the construction, maintenance, and fault diagnosis/rectification of electricity distribution network assets. You’ll work both independently and as part of a tight-knit crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Mōu Koe | About you

  • Relevant EWRB electrical registration with a current practising licence (or meet requirements to obtain)
  • NZQA Distribution Level 4
  • Class 1 manual driver’s licence
  • Class 2 licence
  • Solid knowledge of the Safety Manual – Electricity Industry (SMEI) and safe LV work practices
  • Experience in electricity distribution construction, maintenance, and/or fault response
  • The ability to identify hazards, implement risk controls, and follow Zero Harm systems
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills (including WMS and JSEAs)
  • Faults and network experience, and Powerco competencies, would be highly regarded
  • Applicants must be eligible to undergo pre-employment medical and MOJ checks
