Job Description

For our European Engineered Materials department we are looking for a dynamic and flexible Electrical Engineer (m/f/i) with knowledge of (High Voltage) motors / transformers who enjoys working with domestic and international clients to evaluate their insulation systems according to American, European, and international requirements.

Due to testing being done at client's facilities, you are requested to travel frequently to different countries in Europe, to witness the testing.

You will get an extensive training before working independently. You will work in a diverse and international team, working individually as well as collaborating with national and international colleagues.   • Determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as test plan, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data.
  • Projects may include travel to witness tests at client sites. Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.
  • Follows up on contacts from clients.
  • Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, negotiate completion date and sample requirements.
  • Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.
  • Provides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services. Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information and applying UL requirements.
  • Is familiar with applicable standards, company manuals and appropriate technical literature.
  • Examines samples for compliance with UL requirements and notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance or of any changes in project scope or specifications.
  • Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of laboratory technicians and engineering assistants and establishing completion dates.
  • Coordinates administrative aspects of project management.
  • May serve as Project Handler of record and/or Reviewer of record as assigned.
  • Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
  • Prepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
  • Resolves engineering issues associated with FUS Non Conformances by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the Non Conformance.
  • Analyzes test program for adequacy and sequence.
  • May coordinate and/or perform File Reviews, as directed.
  • Associate or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification, along with several years of relevant professional experience
  • German language skills (speaking/reading and writing is a must have)
  • English language skills (fluent speaking/reading and writing is a must have)
  • Strong customer service skills and willing to go the extra mile
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
  • Good analytical skills and looking for continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Great cooperation skills and open for feedback

  • Willingness to frequently travel to different countries in Europe.

  • Total Rewards: We understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 38.000 - 50.000 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 5% of annual salary.
