Electrical Engineer IILocation: Portland, VictoriaFull time site-based role12-month contract with likelihood of extensionCustomer: AlcoaResponsibilitiesDeliver discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.Consider ‘fit for purpose’ solutions from concept through to as built is developed considering safe and sustainable design, constructability, commissioning phases, operability, maintainability and decommissioning.Proactive interest in leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools in day-to-day work.Understand and consider safety hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed product, plant or structure.Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions with support from seniors.Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:Prepare/support the production of calculations, drawings and related documentation.Interpret and apply the applicable technical standards.Deliver as per the scope of work, identify changes to the scope and communicate with the lead.Support in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required.Understand and support the project change management processes.Ensure self-check is completed on all deliverables and ensure compliance with checking and review activities as per Worley processes.Interface with other peers, seniors, engineering disciplines and Workshare team to complete engineering design and ensure delivery of high-quality deliverablesEstablish and maintain relationships with contractors, the client and other Worley personnel.Actively contribute to the development and improvement of Worley engineering systems, processes, practices, and procedures.Understand and consider interdisciplinarity interfaces across design packages.Candidate criteriaTertiary qualifications with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering majoring in Electrical Power or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5 years technical experience undertaking engineering design at discipline level.Experience in brownfield electrical systems modification detailed design and understanding of instrumentation and control system interfaces.Able to work across multiple projects.Experience across most phases of engineering projects.Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards.Hazardous Area Accreditation (desirable)Good understanding and experience in most areas of:Equipment sizing, cable routing, equipment layouts, lighting design, earthing design, arc flash requirements and HV switchgear and MCC design.Control system interfacing and instrumentation.Electrical calculations required for design.Protection systems and relay settings (overcurrent, earth fault, motors, VSDs).Creation of design drawings such as SLDs, schematics, terminations, schedules, layouts.Site experience such as scoping solutions, equipment inspections, construction and commissioning.Witnessing and inspection of equipment during FATs, SATs.Preparing ITPs, MTOs, datasheets, specifications, construction methodologies, philosophy documents, procurement requisitions and construction scope of works packages.Understanding of electrical estimates and execution schedules.Understanding of shutdown planning and considerations for design.You will be an enthusiastic team player with a dedication in delivering quality deliverablesPlease include candidate availability and rate expectations in submission.
