We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Electro-Mechanical Development Engineer. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and will work in Limerick, Pennsylvania.

About the position

As Electro-Mechanical Development Engineer of the Limerick team, you will be involved in developing mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions for the marine market compliant with government and industry standards. The engineer will also be responsible for the sustaining engineering of any design-controlled products.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Develop new products for target customers based on Sales and Product management input.
  • Develop variations for existing product platforms based on customer needs.
  • Liaise with customer’s technical staff and the Dometic key account managers, product management and engineering leadership to develop solutions and internal cost estimates.
  • Develop the product requirements, high level design specifications, test & validation methods and plans in coordination and approval with the Customer’s application requirements.
  • Specify and evaluate engineering materials ensuring suitability to application in intended environments.
  • Support Customer and Quality Assurance regarding field technical issues and related corrective action.
  • Process Engineering Change Requests including development of plan to execute change, updating documentation and coordination with other functional groups.
  • Provide support for assessments of competitive products and technologies.
  • Produce drawings and specifications for products and components.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Electro-Mechanical Engineering and manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Degree and experience in Engineering Discipline, Mechatronics or Electrical preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related engineering position.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work professionally and diplomatically with a variety of internal and external business partners.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a team environment.
  • Preference given for experience in embedded systems.
  • Proficient with:
    • Electro-mechanical sensors and measurement devices (Hall effect sensors, Magnet restrictive sensors, DC circuits, ohm meters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
    • Microcontroller and FPGA firmware configuration and debugging.
    • BLDC motor and electrical actuator specification and controls.
    • Programming languages (C++, Python, etc.).
  • Knowledge of:
    • DC power distribution.
    • Electrical Actuators.
    • Solid modeling software (Creo Parametric preferred).
    • 2-D modeling software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Experience with software revision management tools (GitHub, Code Warrior or other IDE systems) .
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Manufacturing processes including turning, milling, molding, die casting, stamping, PCB manufacturing and extruding.
    • Rapid prototyping processes including machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting
  • Ability to construct, interpret and apply Design FMEA’s and Process FMEA’s.
  • Advanced use of typical office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Functional understanding of measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc)
