Job Location: Remote - RRC Power and Energy - Round Rock, TX 78664
Position Type: Full TimeRRC is seeking a talented Power Systems Study Engineer, to work in the Solar, BESS, and Wind industry to help us build the future of U.S. energy production. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. Essential Responsibilities
- Perform wind and solar electrical power studies at development, construction, and operation stages, including including ampacity, short circuit, reactive power, grounding, arc flash, system impact studies, etc.
- Model projects using ETAP, ASPEN, CYMCAP, SKM, WinIGS, PSS/E
- Prepare accurate, clearly-written, well-organized technical reports
- Specify equipment ratings and project design parameters based on studies
- Interface with internal and external team members, such as interconnection Engineers, substation engineers, solar, wind and energy storage engineers, study engineers, project coordinators, and project managers
- Take ownership of deliverables to meet and exceed client expectations
- Manage multiple studies and multiple projects at a time
- Perform QA/QC of study packages

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering,
- Master's Degree in Engineering with renewable energy focus a plus
- Strong power systems engineering background
- 2+ years of experience in Power System modelling, simulations and studies in the utility or consulting field
- Proficiency in power flow software such as ETAP, SKM and ASPEN
- Ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment
- Self-motivated
- Experience with PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP a plus
- Experience with insulation coordination, transient overvoltage, transient stability studies a plus
- Professional Engineer license a plus
- Sitting for prolonged hours, standing, walking, and lift up to 15lbs
