Electrical Engineer II
The Electrical Engineer II independently performs engineering tasks on defined projects with moderate complexity across several product categories. This role is responsible for developing circuit designs, performing design validation, and managing assigned tasks within cross-functional teams while continuously improving technical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and simulate analog and digital circuits to meet defined electrical requirements.
2. Independently perform validation testing on engineering prototypes and record results.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues using root cause analysis techniques.
4. Create and manage design documentation, including schematics and layout notes.
5. Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to define electrical interfaces.
6. Participate in board layout reviews and provide design-for-manufacturability suggestions.
7. Support agency compliance testing (e.g., UL, FCC) by preparing documentation and samples.
8. Analyze field failures or customer returns and recommend corrective actions.
9. Design test fixtures to support electrical verification or production tests.
10. Coordinate prototype builds with supply chain and contract manufacturers.
11. Interpret specifications and ensure electrical designs align with customer needs.
12. Perform tolerance and component stress analysis to ensure design robustness.
13. Evaluate alternate parts to support supply continuity and cost reduction.
14. Review test plans for completeness and collaborate with QA to resolve gaps.
15. Develop Excel-based or Python scripts to automate test data analysis.
16. Provide engineering input during gate reviews and project milestones.
17. Refine existing circuits for improved power efficiency or performance.
18. Maintain version control of PCB and firmware assets in project repositories.
19. Support design reviews by preparing presentation material and technical summaries.
20. Recommend process improvements based on lessons learned from previous designs.
21. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or program.
• Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of direct electrical work experience.
• Skills:
• Strong technical, analytical, planning, time management, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
• Prior experience in the design of hand-held electronic products and rechargeable battery systems is preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals with demonstrated ability to apply circuit design principles and conduct hands-on testing and validation of prototypes.
• Experience with small rechargeable batteries (e.g., 18650, Li-Po pouch) and USB charging methodologies is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical analyses and financial justifications to support decision-making at all organizational levels.
• Ability to function effectively in an environment of constantly changing priorities, goals, and direction, often under stressful conditions and time constraints.
• Strong team focus and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
