An ENR Top 100 CM/PM firm for five consecutive years, we specialize in program management, project controls, commissioning, and technology—and offer an excellent platform to grow your career while shaping the future of the built environment.

Procon is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a long-term, onsite opportunity in the Erie, Pennsylvania area, supporting construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects within an active federal healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical building systems, construction practices, design review, quality assurance, and interdisciplinary coordination.

  • Experience with electrical building systems, critical infrastructure, data centers, emergency power, UPS, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems strongly preferred.
  • Federal, VA, healthcare, hospital, or other highly regulated construction experience preferred.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, safety requirements, and industry practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, facility personnel, and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide onsite electrical engineering and construction management support for VA EHRM infrastructure upgrades at the Erie VA Medical Center.
  • Oversee electrical infrastructure improvements, including normal and emergency power, UPS systems, data centers, telecommunications rooms, grounding and bonding, low-voltage systems, and life safety systems.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Review electrical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, product data, design changes, and contractor proposals and provide technical recommendations.
  • Monitor construction progress, schedules, quality, and contractor performance while coordinating with contractors, designers, VA personnel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of electrical systems.
