Role Purpose: Support the vessel’s team by ensuring the proper maintenance and reliable operation of electrical, electronic, navigational, automation, and control systems.
Execute engine room watches safely and efficiently, perform maintenance tasks on electrical and electronic equipment, update the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) as directed, and maintain the inventory of spare parts and equipment under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
The Electro Technical Officer should be knowledgeable about company procedures, SOLAS, MARPOL, and flag state regulations. Essential knowledge areas include marine engineering systems, electrical and electronic equipment, automation and control systems, emergency procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, clear communication, and adaptability to modern technologies are vital.
Experience: Demonstrates leadership behaviors and reliability as an effective member of the engine room team. Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring high levels of safety and performance during operations and maintenance. Capable of calibrating and maintaining various onboard instruments and sensors, with a solid understanding of environmental compliance regulations.
