Title : Test Engineer – Destructive / Product Testing
Location : Marietta, GA
Position Description
- This is a “hands-on” position where the applicant will work directly with customers to develop and implement a test plan or follow existing test procedures for whatever testing the customer may want or need. The applicant will work closely with the customer and their ATS support team to accurately simulate the conditions the test part may encounter. The applicant will generate the test reports.
- The applicant is expected to be able to both delegate and personally perform the testing, as required, to meet deadlines and workload requirements.
- The position requires the applicant to both work as part of a team with other engineers, technicians, and machinists on larger projects and be able to work alone to accomplish smaller projects.
- All testing performed in this position is mechanical in nature but there is not a typical type of tests performed. Test requests can (and have) come from all industries and in all scales of scope.
- Common tests performed are: load tests, pressure tests, product life cycle testing, and destructive evaluation tests.The tests are performed both in the lab and the in the field, as required.
- The applicant will be expected to identify, understand, and apply appropriate test specifications (ASTM,SAE, ISO, etc.)
Requirements – Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Mechanical/Civil/Mechatronics
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) & SolidsWorks
- Be team oriented and have a positive attitude
- Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of customer representatives
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Strong safety awareness in a variety of construction settings
- Willingness to travel and work in the field ~ 20%
- Ability to repeatedly lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work occasional night and weekend projects v/s normal day shifts
- Ability to think creatively and prioritize rapidly, as well as manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- A passion for what you do – “Can do” attitude
Hands-on experience with:
- Power/hand tools (grinders, drills, etc.)
- Measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.)
- Data acquisition systems
- Familiarity with machining and fabrication processes
- Programming simple PLC executions.
